Welcome to NIU SEA!
Northern Illinois University Student Education Association is our university's local chapter for the student IEA program. Our group is comprised of future educators, whether it be Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Special Education, Early Childhood Education, etc. Our primary goal is to aide in professional development as well as prepare all future educators for the journey that lies ahead. Please feel free to look around and explore to see what NIU SEA is really all about!

**Upcoming Meetings**
Lincoln Residence Hall houses the Lincoln Commons, where all of our meetings will be held. You can find the Lincoln Commons just past A wing. If you are having a difficult time finding it, please do not be afraid to ask the Front Desk Staff, they would be happy to assist you!
- January 25 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln Commons---This meeting will be a social
- February 7 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln Commons----This meeting we will have a speaker come in
- February 22 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln Commons---This meeting will have a speaker
- March 6 at 6:00pm in the Lincoln Commons--We will have a speaker for this meeting!
- March 21 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln Commons---This will be a social
- April 10 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln Commons---This meeting we will have a speaker and we will host our elections for 2012-2013 Executive Board
- April 14 NIU Conference--more information to come
- May 1 at 7:00pm in the Lincoln Commons--This will be our last meeting of the year! Please come out and wish your farewells to the 2011-2012 Executive Board and meet the new E-Board!

- Advisory Board Meeting: January 21 in Springfield, Illinois
- IEA Spring Conference: March 30-31 in Bloomington Normal, Illinois
- April 14, we host our own conference here at NIU! Mark your calendars, we hope to see you there!!!

Welcome to the NIU Student Education Association. We will be having events specifically designed to help you learn what it takes to become a great teacher. Feel free to contact any one of the executive-board members if you have any questions, or bring up questions at the events. Our goal as an executive board is to shape SEA to fit your needs, and make it the best organization on campus for future teachers of all category. So if there is anything you want added or changed at the events just let us know. The executive board wishes all of you a great year at NIU, and the best of luck in your classes. |
