IEA Representative Assembly

March 12 -14, 2009
Hyatt Regency O'Hare
Rosemont, Illinois

About:

Some 1,200 delegates representing IEA K-12 teachers, higher education personnel, educational support professionals, retirees and student members will attend the 154th meeting of the IEA Representative Assembly (IEA RA) in March. The RA, the highest policy-making body of the Association, will bring together representatives from your IEA regions and local associations to act on resolutions, reports and recommendations of the Board of Directors and motions by fellow delegates. The meeting is the culmination of a year long effort to ensure that member needs and interests are integrated into the daily workings of the organization.

Initially, delegates attend open hearings where they gather crucial information on issues facing the Association. The days following are spent in conducting business and making policy, including the all-important discussions on how your dues dollars will be spent.

The IEA Representative Assembly is your assembly. Contact your leaders now and make sure they carry your concerns to this policy-making body. Your involvement gives life to our democratic traditions.
