WelcomeIEA Region 47 includes over 2,000 members from 27 local education associations in central Illinois. Our schools "surround" the Capital City. The Region holds regular Region Council meetings, training workshops, political action events, and other activities. Our goal is to provide a great public education for all students. The Region 47 office is located in the IEA Professional Development Center in Parkway Point Shopping Center, Springfield.  Invest in Excellence Campaign is On!Members are urged to be involved in IEA's effort to reform how public education is funded in Illinois. Contact your legislator and urge them to fully fund public education NOW! Our Region New Grassroots Political Activist, Patty Lorton, from Willieamsville, is leading the region's efforts. Each local is asked to identify two volunteers to serve as contacts for the campaign. All members are urged to e-mail, call and write their state legislators to supporet the IEA position. If you need help in reaching your legislators call Teresa Wilson at the region office at 787-7060.
