Our next Region Council Meeting is on March 8th at 4:15. Following this meeting will be a brief delegate orientation for the IEA-RA

Ballots are now ready for the election of our Ethnic-Minority Representative on the Region 34, for two years to officially fill the vacancy. Until now, a Council appointment has been fulfilling this role. Thank you, Gina, for doing a great job!

Happy New Year and sorry for the lack of updates.
Remember to call the Palatine Office if you are planning to attend the inservice on RIF being held on February 24th.
The next meeting of the Region 34 Council will be on March 11 at 4:15 at the Palatine IEA office.
The IEA-RA Delegate Orientation meeting will take place that same evening at 6:00 p.m.

 Your Region at Work at the IPACE Dinner
Several Region 34 members were seated with State Congresswoman Carolyn Krause at the dinner to support the Illinois Political Action Committee for Education held at the IEA Representative Assembly. Even at dinner we were working to put forth the issues important in education!

 OVER A HUNDRED AT BAM!!Despite lousy weather, over 100 IEA members from the Palatine Office attended the February 6th meeting to hear presentations on IEA's Invest in Excellence campaign. The main objective is to change the way Illinois funds (or doesn't fund) education in the state.
There are a lot of misconceptions surrounding this. To get the correct facts, check out the IEA website!
