Region 22 touches the Wisconsin border mid-way between Lake Michigan and Iowa. We are comprised of 19 locals ranging in size from 11 to 210 members in K-12, K-8, High School and Special Ed Co-ops. We represent both certified and non-certified employees.
IEA MissionServices are provided to our members through our UniServ Director and Region Secretary located in the Rockford Regional Office. The IEA helps build strong local associations that negotiate for their members, lobbies to effect excellence and equity in public education, works to elect legislative candidates who are pro-education, provides professional development resources and ensures due process for educational employees.
Invest In Excellence
School funding is broken. Invest In Excellence is IEA's effort to fix funding for schools. For more details on the state-wide Invest In Excellence drive, visit IEA's website at www.IEANEA.org. Briefly, the Invest In Excellence principles upon which IEA's efforts are based are:
* Provide adequate resources to all pre K-12 public schools.
* Provide adequate resources to all public higher education institutions.
* Provide a long-term solution for pension system stability and funding.
* Do no harm to any public education entity.
* Incorporate positive components resulting in increased student achievement.
