Computer Services

• Maintaining over 450 personal computers, printers and other equipment in use throughout the 22 field offices, IEA Headquarters, Professional Development Center and by the IEA Board of Directors. This includes the initial configuration of the computer with the standard set of programs (e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, data base and virus protection), upgrading the versions of these programs as newer ones become available and technical support for all computer hardware and software.
• Maintaining a computer network that directly links all of the users at headquarters and the PDC, allowing for the sharing of data and printers.
• Maintaining the e-mail system which allows all of the IEA staff and board members to send electronic messages to one another and their NEA affiliates in other states. Staff and board members can also use the TEA e-mail system to send messages over the Internet to people who are not a part of the IEA-NEA e-mail network.
• Maintaining and continuing development of the lEA web sites, extranet and IEA technological infrastructure.
• Maintaining and continuing development of the computer server system which, among other things, is used to create the District Financial Profile report, host web sites for IEA and its affiliates, publish electronic newsletters, process election results and aid the association in being more effective and efficient.
• Developing new computer programs and data bases to meet the organization's needs.
• Providing computer training for all IEA staff and board members.
