Faculty Questions
 
  1. How can we ensure that workload and responsibilities are reasonable and fairly distributed so that we maintain excellence in teaching and foster faculty vitality and innovation?
  2. How do we make the faculty evaluation and tenure processes fair, objective, and transparent, and use these processes to facilitate excellence in teaching and learning?
  3. How can we ensure that departments, chairs, and coordinators receive appropriate support and resources to better serve students and the college by accomplishing departmental goals and responsibilities?
  4. How can we continue to develop successful structures for shared governance and expand the role of faculty to create a better process for institutional decision making?
  5. How do we ensure an effective and efficient committee process?
  6. How do we enable the association to carry out its duties more effectively?
  7. How can we, as a caring community, promote wellness and provide a clearly understood and competitive benefits package that meets the needs of faculty and their families through all their life and career stages?
  8. How can we provide incentives for faculty to retire and show appreciation and respect for their service to the college while at the same time taking advantage of their expertise as faculty, their knowledge of the institution and its culture, and their long-time experience?
  9. How can we modify our salary schedule and other monetary compensation so that we can continue to attract and retain an excellent and increasingly diverse faculty and ensure that lane and step placement and advancement are fair, consistent and without error?
  10. How can we motivate faculty and reward them for developing professionally and/or personally and being actively involved in the life of the college, their profession and discipline, and the community?
