Response from Jerry Costello regarding performance-based pay revisions:
Dear Greg:
I wanted to drop you a note to let you know I received your message regarding performance-based pay provisions in legislation reauthorizing education programs. Thank you for contacting me about this issue. I share your concerns for these provisions and how they are implemented. While I believe it is appropriate to find ways to reward our best teachers, it must be done in a way that protects collective bargaining rights and union contracts. Be assured I will keep your views in mind as the House of Representatives considers such legislation.
