The IEA-NEA Instruction and Professional Development office serves the members and staff of the Association by:
- Providing support and technical assistance in employee-directed school reform and restructuring efforts;
- Monitoring NEA’s professional development initiatives and communicating them to members;
- Increasing professional development opportunities for leadership and members;
- Developing professional development content for the lEA web site;
- Monitoring activities of the State Board of Education and other agencies and organizations which affect the instruction and professional development concerns of IEA-NEA members;
- Training leaders and staff on education-related issues important to the profession;
- Developing bargaining strategies around school restructuring and other education-related issues; and
- Advising the Association regarding policies and strategies to advance the professional interests of members.
