Committees

2011 All-Committee Weekend

There are 14 committees made up of IEA members, staff and governance who assess various issues of importance to IEA members and to public education in Illinois, look at things they’d like to see change or occur, set goals to see that those changes take place and then report to the general membership at the IEA-RA in March. Those committees met for the first time in September in Springfield.

Illinois Political Action Committee for Education (IPACE)

The Illinois Political Action Committee for Education, exists to elect individuals to the Illinois General Assembly, statewide offices, and local school boards who will make a difference for quality education.

Indoor Air Quality

Sick Schools Are Bad For Everyone. The average age of the 115,000 schools in the United States is 42 years. Fifty percent of these facilities have problems linked to poor indoor air quality, which has an adverse affect on student health, performance and test scores. Staff members also cite inferior indoor air quality as a major factor for low morale, poor performance, high absenteeism and health problems. The IEA-NEA Indoor Air Quality Committee can help you address these problems.

CAPE

The purpose of CAPE (Committee to Combat Attacks on Public Education) is to provide IEA members and the public with truthful information to refute myths often spread by the media and anti-public education entities.
