Intensive lobbying conducted by the IEA-NEA lobbying team, recognized as one of the most successful advocacy organizations in Illinois.
Member Advocacy
Provides support for member opportunities to interact with policy makers in a constructive way. Activities include legislative breakfast meetings, successful school tours, and legislative contact teams.
Grassroots Political Activists
Coordinates and supports a cadre of member activists chosen by lEA region leaders to implement and advance IEA's policy advocacy and political action programs.
Legislative Platform
Coordinates and supports member input and development of legislative priorities and positions through the lEA legislative committee.
Information
Keeps lEA members informed of issues and legislative performance through the IEA web page, issue fact sheets, and legislative report cards.
Political Action
Coordinates and supports membership participation in making political recommendations at the local, state, and federal levels.
