IEA Education Scholarship

August 31, 2010 by Webmaster

scholarshipThe IEA-NEA has established a scholarship program that is open to all children/legal wards of current IEA-NEA members. All children/legal wards of deceased, divorced, or IEA-Retired members are eligible to apply, regardless of child’s age or marital status, as long as they plan to pursue a career in teaching. The Committee is now accepting applications to make awards for the 2011 – 2012 school year.

Please read the application carefully. The Committee will allow previous winners of this award to reapply for the program this year. Previous winners are not guaranteed an award but will be put into the pool with the other applicants.

The Scholarship Committee cannot stress enough that we need your continued funding support in order to make this program a success. Locals and individuals have already made many generous contributions alike. For these donations, the Scholarship Committee is truly grateful. Both the size and the number of awards given depend on your contributions.

All applications, complete with supporting documents, must be postmarked by December 3, 2010 in order to be considered for the 2011 – 2012 school year scholarship program.

Please note that applications and/or supporting documents postmarked after the deadline date will not be eligible for the 2011 – 2012 program. Due to the large number of applications received and the short turn-around time involved for the Committee to come to a decision, all applications must be received in a timely fashion.
